On Saturday, January 18 TVLine posted an interview with "Once Upon a Time" series creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz about spoilers for the upcoming second half of the third season, which will return to ABC in the spring. Fans can look forward to new enemies, new characters and watching wicked face off against evil.
The second half of the season will kick off with a new villain, the Wicked Witch, although the series will be putting its own spin on the character. The villain, played by actress Rebecca Mader, will be a major presence the rest of the season and will face opposition from Regina. It's unclear if she will be in Storybrooke or the show will venture into the land of Oz.
Emma and Henry were shown living in bliss in New York City at the end of the midseason finale, before Captain Hook showed up. It seems Hook will once again have trouble convincing Emma about the existence of magic even though her magical family is in danger. The reason why Hook was the one to find Emma will have to be explained, but it could be because Hook managed to escape the danger he hinted at in the previous episode.
Neal and Emma will have another roadblock in their relationship, since the curse reset their lives. The episode with Emma and Neal meeting up again in New York won't be remembered so it will be interesting to see how that scenario unfolds again. It's also possible that Storybrooke will return in the future, possibly in flashbacks.
The rest of the season will also include Belle and Rumplestiltskin, and their fate is "something that's going to be explored" since the Dark One sacrificed himself to stop Peter Pan. Belle will also get a more expansive story in the upcoming episodes after being absent from much of the season.
"Once Upon a Time" will return on Sunday, March 9 at 8 p.m. on ABC, with the episode "New York City Serenade," which will be the debut of the Wicked Witch. The rest of the season will focus on the battle between wicked and evil, meaning the Wicked Witch and Regina will be at odds.
