Lately, it’s hard even for a pirate to find work while on hiatus. It seems Colin O’Donoghue who plays Captain Hook on ABC’s “Once Upon a Time” auditioned for the same role but in NBC’s upcoming musical “Peter Pan: Live” but lost out to Christopher Walken. Walken, Hypable said on Aug. 11, had previously appeared in a musical – “Hairspray” – and other musicals and won the role. That means O’Donoghue won’t be going anywhere for now.

When we left off at the end of Season 3, Hook had finally won over Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison). They finally kissed and the promise of a romance that has been brewing since Season 2 looked about to be fulfilled. When we pick the story back up at the end of September, Hook will have become a resident of Storybrooke and may even be sporting a new look.

He’s been running around in the same basic threads since we first laid eyes on his handsome face. It is time for him to transition to something more in tune with his new status in life. O’Donoghue said, “You will recognize me. I can’t go into specifics but it’s an ‘80′s shell suit. It’s a nice little number.” We don’t think it will matter much what they dress him in. What do you think?

Show runner Edward Kitsis says fans will finally get to see Hook and Emma have a real date. “If you notice, they haven’t had a proper date,” Kitsis said. “Their dates have been running from time travels and portals and monsters, so they’re going to have a proper date.”

What kind of date could the couple have in Storybrooke? Whatever the writers have dreamt up, it will be anything but ordinary.

Once Upon a Time” Season 4 will kick off on Sunday, Sept. 28 on ABC. Until then, we’ll do our best to bring you all the spoilers and updates we can find.
