There are still several more weeks until "Once Upon a Time" season 3 returns. The mid-season finale was shocking and heartbreaking, but the good news is that the fairy tale characters are not gone forever. The bad news is that there will be a major character death in the second half. On Jan. 20, TVLine revealed what viewers can expect next.

Warning: If you do not want to know "Once Upon a Time" spoilers, then stop reading.

A sneak peek clip that was released some time ago shows the newest villain, the Wicked Witch walking along a dark road at night. In the background a road sign indicates that she is heading towards Storybrooke. Another clip shows what appears to be the town hospital, so it's pretty clear that Storybrooke will be back and that the fairy tale characters found a way around Peter Pan's curse.

However, there is the issue of Emma and Henry. Before Storybrooke was wiped off the map, Regina put a spell on both of them that altered their memories. She wanted them to only remember good things and that she did. Emma's new memories show that she never gave Henry up for adoption and they are living happily in New York. But things get shaken up a bit when Hook knocks on her door and plants a big kiss on her. Of course she has no clue who he is and he gets the door slammed in his face. In the second half of "OUAT" he will continue to try to jog her memory because her family needs her help. This must refer to the Wicked Witch.

But Hook isn't the only man that will be in Emma's life, fans are speculating that Christopher Gorham and Emma will have some sort of relationship together. Edward Kitsis said that Gorham's character would be important to two people on the show.

Some shows take a pregnant actress and work around it if they can't fit it into the script. On "Law & Order: SVU" Mariska Hargitay's pregnancy was hidden and all of the scenes shot when she was showing had her sitting behind a desk or carrying boxes. When she was standing or walking, she wore clothes and jackets to try to conceal it while aiming the camera at the top half of her body. This wasn't the case with Ginnifer Goodwin, the writers actually wrote her pregnancy into the story so that is another thing to expect.

As for Regina, she gave Henry to Emma on the mid-season finale and this is going to have an impact on her. Kitsis said,

"She definitely wants to have another child, but for right now, she's not thinking about that. She just lost one. For Regina, it's what is going to make her heal again and where is she going to go. We know she filled the hole in her heart by doing the most selfless thing we've ever seen. She did what's best for Henry and gave him up to Emma, her sworn enemy, so they can have a better life. What happens when she returns to the Enchanted Forest? She needs to fall in love first. Right now, she's not open to anything."

The first thing the Evil Queen has to do is deal with the Wicked Witch moving into her old castle. Spoilers have indicated that the villain is going to have a lot of backstory and there are going to be a lot of scenes of her and Regina. They will have the battle of all battles and the news that a major character will die makes some viewers believe that it could be Regina. The creators of the show have said that the character that dies will be gone for good, will not be coming back to life and fans will be absolutely shocked at the death of the major character. However, they stressed that anyone could die except for Rumple.

Regina will also meet up with Robin Hood, which could give her a light of happiness through the pain she felt when she lost Henry. Could this be the reason why the Wicked Witch has a beef with Regina aka the Evil Queen? Could it be over a man?

Finally, there will be a season finale wedding, but no clues have been revealed about it, but fans are sure to be rooting for their favorite fairy tale characters.

"Once Upon a Time" season 3 returns on March 9.
