“Once Upon a Time” is still on winter break but that hasn’t stopped the show’s creators from dropping clues about what we can expect. According to a Jan. 20 bombshell reported on Spoiler TV, this news is big…really big.
Executive producers Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis recently revealed that sometime during the second half of season 3, a major character is going to die. This means a series regular will be gone once and for all – no magic or sleight of hand will bring them back. Kitsis said, “The character dies, for real.”
The only other tidbit the two show runners shared is that the death will not be Rumplestiltskin’s. Robert Carlyle will remain with the show. That leaves 8 other potential candidates: Emma, Henry, Regina, Snow White, Prince Charming, Bell, Captain Hook and Neal.
The most logical to go would be Neal as his story lines concerning Neverland, Pan and his father have all been neatly resolved. His departure opens up opportunities for other characters without greatly impacting the dynamics of the show. Time will tell.
“Once Upon a Time” will return March 9. Until then, check back often for more news and updates.
