The winter finale of “Once Upon a Time” that aired last night left fans in a state of both confusion and excitement. Viewers are now more anxious than ever to see what happens next. They will have to wait until March to find out but until then, E News has posted on Dec. 15 some new photos of the show’s newest character, the Wicked Witch of the West.
“Lost” actress Rebecca Mader has been tapped for this coveted role and she makes a fabulous witch. The “Wizard of Oz” character will make an interesting addition to the fairytale characters of the hit ABC show. Mader will play the role of Elphaba in upcoming episodes as it looks like she takes on Regina in the second half of season three. Elphaba is actually the name given to the witch in the musical "Wicked."
In the new photos, Mader is all decked out in black, which is most likely the dark fairy that the blue fairy was referring to in Sunday night’s episode. The Wicked Witch of the West had her outfit redone in a much fancier version of the original. It reminds you of the dark version of Queen Regina’s fancy dress. Mader looks even more evil with her green-colored skin and a sinister grin. Will there be flying monkeys around as well? That remains to be seen.
The official Twitter for “Once Upon a Time” has come out with a special promo that says, ‘Wicked Always Wins.’ This must be according to the witch because everyone knows that fairytales always have happy endings. Of course, it might be a while before fans will get to see that happy ending that Disney speaks of.
What do you think of Rebecca Mader as the Wicked Witch of the West on “Once Upon a Time?”
