‘Once Upon a Time’s’ Meghan Ory cast as lead in ‘Intelligence’

Meghan Ory, also known as Ruby on ABC’s “Once Upon a Time” has been cast in a new series, “Intelligence” reports Deadline (March 11). She will be joined by Josh Holloway (Sawyer from Lost), Marg Helgenberger (CSI), and P.J. Byrne (Bolin in The Legend of Korra).

Ory has been cast as Riley O’Neil, a former Secret Service Agent, whose job is to protect Gabriel (Holloway), who has an computer chip implanted in him, which makes him a pretty big deal as the chip allows him to access the entire electromagnetic spectrum.

Ory was promoted to series regular on “Once Upon a Time”, but Ruby has not played a big role in Storybrooke during season two, but she isn’t leaving the show just yet. Ory took to Twitter to reassure fans that Ruby wasn't going anywhere just yet:

Thanks all!Vry excited 4 #Intelligence but fret not #littlereds..I predict we haven't seen the last of #red or #RubyandtheBigBlueCoat #OUAT

“Intelligence” will air on CBS but is produced by ABC, and for the time being Ory can continue on as Ruby while “Intelligence” get’s itself pilot-ready. No word will on what will happen if “Intelligence” takes off.

Ory joins the likes of Eion Bailey and Sebastian Stan, who many fans feel were under-used on “OUaT” and have gone on to find leading opportunities. Bailey (Pinocchio) was cast in “Trooper” as the male lead starring opposite Mira Sorvino. “Trooper” will air on TNT. Stan just finished a run on Broadway’s “Picnic.”
