We are just days from the winter finale of season 3 of “Once Upon A Time” and Peter Pan is in the driver’s seat in Storybrooke. The Hollywood Reporter shared an interview on Dec. 13 with Robbie Kay, the actor playing the impish villain. He has some interesting thoughts on the story we’re about to see.
Of playing the iconic Pan, Kay says it’s been a journey because the character is so well known and yet “Once Upon A Time” puts its own unique spin on it. He called it a fun and a “great experience.”
Kay said he knew early on that Pan was going to emerge as Rumplestiltskin’s father. He hadn’t seen it coming – neither did we – but Kay thought “It’s a brilliant twist.”
Currently Pan and Henry have switched bodies a la a “Freaky Friday” moment. Kay has said that after playing Pan for so many episodes, it was refreshing to play someone his cast mates weren’t glaring at in every scene. He shared that Jared Gilmore who plays Henry had fun getting to play Pan, too.
When asked if Pan will operate any differently in Storybrooke than he did in Neverland, Kay acknowledged that Pan is in alien place where he’s out of his element. He will definitely have a different attitude. Pan has a definite plan to create a new Neverland and that plan will cause repercussions and consequences.
The only spoiler Kay gave away was to say that there will be another body switch, putting Pan back in his own body.
The season 3 winter finale, “Going Home” will air on “Once Upon A Time” on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m.
