The hit ABC drama Once Upon a Time has finally cast the role of Snow White's mother. TV Guide reported on Wednesday, Jan. 9, that actress Rena Sofer is set to portray the fairytale character's mother Queen Eva in a future episode. The fairytale centric show airs Sundays at 8 p.m. and just returned from a midseason break for season two.
Sofer will appear as Queen Eva only in flashbacks on the popular show, to explain her marriage to King Leopold (Richard Schiff), her relationship with Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and her death. Queen Eva has not been discussed much on the show thus far since Regina (Lana Parrilla) was set to marry Snow's father and not much is known about the woman. The flashbacks feature a young Snow White played by Bailee Madison.
Sofer is well known for her role as Lois Cerullo on the long running daytime soap opera General Hospital as well as playing Marilyn Bauer on the television drama 24. An entertainment veteran, Sofer has also appeared on NCIS, Two and a Half Men, Covert Affairs, Heroes, Coupling, and Melrose Place. Her film work includes Traffic, Keeping the Faith, and Another Man's Wife.
