When “One Upon a Time” returns later this month, Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) stands to face his “ultimate fears” in the ‘Rapunzel’ episode. On Feb. 28, Enstarz reviewed the actor’s comments on the subject and it sounds as if the episode will really put the handsome prince to the test.

The upcoming episode with Rapunzel (Alexandra Metz) will feature Prince Charming in some way. Earlier, a photo of the two in her tower appeared in media. The episode, titled “The Tower,” was described by Dallas in as recent interview as "awesome," "dark" and "very psychological." He described Rapunzel’s character as similar to the other female characters on the show, "very strong."

Dallas went on to say the story arc crosses "an episode where you have Charming facing a lot of his ultimate fears. He's going to have to really look at himself, when confronted with something that challenges his strength and courage."

Showrunner Edward Kitsis compared the characterization to that of Disney’s 2010 movie, “Tangled” and said “Once’s” version is much darker. He said a better comparison would be to the 2004 film, “The Grudge” where a curse causes its victims to experience intense rage before they die.

All we really know of the plot is that Charming will visit Rapunzel in her tower and so will a "mysterious hooded figure." “The Tower is set to air on Sunday, March 23.

Once Upon a Time” returns with the spring premiere “New York City Serenade” on Sunday, March 9 on ABC.
