This Sunday (Dec. 8,) Storybrooke may face its most formidable foe yet: Peter Pan masquerading as sweet Henry. Now that he snuck in using Henry as his meat-suit, Pan will try to execute the master plan he’s been cultivating for centuries. Meanwhile, Fairytale Land flashbacks reveal Snow White and Prince Charming’s adventurous honeymoon.
Take a look at the official episode description, slideshow of images and a sneak peek from “The New Neverland.”
ABC’s press release states:
“The New Neverland” – The residents of Storybrooke are overjoyed upon the return of Henry and our heroes from Neverland. But unbeknownst to them, a plan is secretly being put into place by a well-hidden Pan that will shake up the very lives of the townspeople. Meanwhile, in the Fairy Tale Land that was, Snow White and Prince Charming’s honeymoon turns out to be anything but romantic when they go in search of a mythical being that could stop Regina cold in her tracks, on “Once Upon a Time,” SUNDAY, DECEMBER 8 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
“Once Upon a Time” stars Ginnifer Goodwin as Snow White/Mary Margaret, Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan, Lana Parrilla as the Evil Queen/Regina, Josh Dallas as Prince Charming/David, Emilie de Ravin as Belle, Colin O’Donoghue as Hook, Michael Raymond-James as Baelfire/Neal Cassidy, Jared S. Gilmore as Henry Mills and Robert Carlyle as Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold.
Guest starring are Lee Arenberg as Leroy/Grumpy, Keegan Conner Tracy as Blue Fairy/Mother Superior, Beverley Elliott as Granny, David-Paul Grove as Doc, Gabe Khouth as Mr. Clark/Sneezy, Faustino Di Bauda as Sleepy, Jeffrey Kaiser as Dopey, Michael Coleman as Happy, Mig Macario as Bashful, Robbie Kay as Pan, JoAnna Garcia Swisher as Ariel, Gil McKinney as Eric, Rose McIver as Tinker Bell, Parker Croft as Felix, Freya Tingley as Wendy, James Immekus as keychain and Matt Kane as glasses.
”The New Neverland” was written by Andrew Chambliss and directed by Ron Underwood.
Episode stills reveal Henry’s warm welcome back to Storybrooke. We also see a lot of wonderful reunions. During the gang’s absence, Ariel seems to have found her beloved Prince Eric and they appear to be happily in love. Hopefully we’ll have a chance to see how they got back together and how Eric initially reacted when he learned the truth about Ariel (assuming she told him about her fabulous fins.) The Darlings are thrilled to be together again after serving as pawns in Pan’s vicious game. Best of all, RumBelle is back! Thanks to Belle’s faith and encouragement, Rumple has changed his selfish and shady ways. It will be sweet to see where their relationship goes from here on. Now on the down side, the images also show us how Pan is plotting his revenge with Felix’s help. It will be very unnerving to see Henry as a villain in this episode. Even stranger, Peter Pan will be the ever earnest young hero. Jared Gilmore and Robbie Kay will definitely be stretching their acting muscles in this week’s epic role-reversal.
As for the Fairytale Land flashback, TVLine released an exclusive sneak peek, which shows us what Snow and Charming are up to during their honeymoon. In this scene, Snow White wants to track down the mythical Medusa and Charming insists on going with her.
According to the legend, anyone who gazes into Medusa’s eyes will turn into stone. Snow wants to take her head and send it to Regina, hoping the Evil Queen will take a peek and get stoned.
We are told she will be a major character, with a major arc, and it's a meaty role.
Although we cannot tell you which iconic fairytale villain Mader will portray, (we're being kept on super-secret lockdown!) we can tell you that you will find out the twisted answer soon enough! Fans will get their first glimpse at the actress' evil ways when they tune-in to Once Upon a Time's mid-season finale airing Dec. 15.
Following the sure-to-be mesmerizing episode, Mader's fairytale identity will be revealed in an action-packed promo that will tease the long road of adventures our characters will face in the second half of the season. Trust us, you definitely don't want to miss this jaw-dropping reveal!
Will Mader be playing the mythical snake-haired she-beast? Or is it just a coincidence? What other villain could she be? Share your theories in the comments below!
I have to admit, I like the addition of Greek mythology into the world of ‘Once Upon A Time.’ It makes me wonder what other mythological figures will appear down the road (i.e. Greek gods, Minotaur, Icarus, etc.) What do you think, Oncers?
Metz will make her debut in the 14th episode of Season 3 — aka soon into the second half, which premieres March 9 — and though nothing at this time is confirmed, there is always the option for additional future appearances.
Will she be in a Fairytale Land flashback or will she pop up in Storybrooke? Are you excited to see Rapunzel?
