It seems everyone is talking about the return to Neverland, and Storybrooke, and "Rolling Stone" magazine is no exception. Yesterday, September 27th 2013 they published an interview with "Once Upon a Time" creators Adam Horowitz and Eddie Kitsis.
Trying not to spoil or drop too many secrets, Horowitz and Kitsis speak briefly with Rolling Stones writer Scott Neumyer, revealing new characters and admitting to hints back to their earlier series, "Lost", such as rock and roll references, naming the wizard Rumplestiltskin defeats Zoso, after the Led Zeppelin album, and the time the Storybrooke clock is stopped at, at 8:15. Read the full interview here, along with Neumyer's plea to see his favorite fairy tale characters. (Please note, there will be spoilers.)
When Season 2 left off, Storybrooke had just escaped annihlation at the hands of Regina(Lana Parrilla), and Henry(Jared Gilmore), had been abducted by Greg and Tamara. Killian Jones(Colin O'Donoghue as Captain Hook) took Emma, David, Mary Margaret and Mr Gold (Robert Carlyle) aboard the Jolly Roger to search for Henry who, it had been learned was taken to Neverland. This news unnerved both Jones and Gold, and left viewers pondering what was on the other side of the portal that would spook the most powerful wizard in Fairytale Land and the fearless pirate.
Kitsis and Horowitz also briefly mentioned the new spinoff series, "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland", starting in Storybrooke, then moving on to Wonderland itself, including John Lithgow as the White Rabbit, and Iggy Pop as the hookah-smoking caterpillar. Both creators are just as excited for viewers to see both series, indicating they might see flashbacks of former favorite Fairytale characters in Wonderland.
"Once Upon a Time" returns this Sunday, September 29th, starting with a "Return to Neverland" special preview, at 7 pm.
"Once Upon a Time in Wonderland" debuts Thursday October 10th on ABC at 8 pm.
