Whale in Storybrooke

At the end of episode 11, a stranger drove into Storybrooke, hitting Hook. The driver was also injured. The ambulance delivers him to the ER and the main characters – Emma, Mary Margaret, David, Hook, Gold, Belle, Ruby and Grumpy - are all in attendance.

They are worried about whether or not the stranger saw Gold use magic and what it could mean to the inhabitants of Storybrooke. There is a discussion about letting the patient die from his injuries in order to protect the town but David wins out and convinces them to let Whale help the driver. Before the ambulance arrived, Whale was seen drinking.

Emma hacks into stranger’s phone in effort to figure out who he is. She is worried about being exposed to outside world. Someone keeps calling the phone and the

caller ID only says “Her.” Gold tells the group that the stranger saw him use magic. Mary Margaret tells the group that the doctor is drunk.

An orderly comes out of the OR looking for Whale who never came in. Emma finds his discarded smock with his pager in the pocket. Ruby takes the smock and uses it to track him. She finds him at the pier. Just as he leaps, she snatches him back. He is dist4ubed by the work he’s done and the legacy his family name carries but she convinces him to return and save the patient.

Whale tells Emma the patient made it and is waking up. She questions him and he admits he was texting at the time of the accident. She says she will let him off with a warning and tells the others he never saw the magic.

After she leaves his room, he calls “Her” and says, "You won’t believe what I saw."

Victor Frankenstein in Fairy Tale Land

Victor Frankenstein and his highly decorated brother Gerhardt are celebrating with their father who gives them both gifts. Victor’s is a commission in the military he doesn’t want. Victor is digging up a body when Gerhardt approaches. Police arrive and start shooting at them. The brothers flee but Gerhardt’s been shot. His pocket watch is cracked. Victor takes him to his lab and tries to bring him back. The procedure doesn’t work and fries Gerhardt’s heart. Father comes to lab and discovers the body Victor brought in the house was Gerhardt. Father disowns him over this and blames him for Gerhardt’s death.

Rumplestiltskin says if Victor will travel with him and put on a good show for Regina, he will provide him a magic heart that can withstand anything.

After the second surgery, Gerhardt is and Victor brings his father to see him.
