Episode 12 of “Once Upon A Time” brought a mother and daughter together after years of estrangement. “In the Name of the Brother” aired Sunday Jan. 20 at 7 p.m.
At the end of episode 11, Hook was run over by a mysterious stranger arriving in Storybrooke. In the hospital, Emma questions him about the whereabouts of Cora but he denies knowledge.
Meanwhile, Gold returns to his shop and finds a mysterious box and Cora waiting for him. Leery, Gold asks what she is doing there. Cora says it’s a peace offering. She wants her daughter in exchange for what the box offers. In return for his help finding Regina, she offers him his son. Gold opens the box and finds an artifact that will help him find his son. He asks if Cora has any spells to return memory. She only knows what he taught her. He accepts her offer and declares a truce. He extends a hand to shake and she says they should seal the deal the way they used to. Cora leans in and kisses him.
Cora goes to Regina’s home and takes her time looking through her things. Finally she finds an item she thinks is interesting and takes the plaque Henry made and dedicated to his mom.
Henry goes to the mausoleum looking for Regina. She is in a white room full of mirrors. She can see him thru the mirror but doesn’t answer him when he calls her. Finally, she opens the door and they hug. Henry says he always knew she had nothing to do with Archie’s death. Regina asks how? In a puff of blue smoke, Henry turns into Cora and says, “Because I did it.”
Regina asks why she came. Cora tells her she understands why Regina sent Cora through the looking glass and why she tried kill Cora and she forgives Regina. Cora admits she never should have made her marry the king. When Regina cried over Cora’s coffin, it changed things for her. She wants them to reunite.
Regina is mad because Cora framed her Archie’s murder. Regina wants her mother to go to town to tell the truth, but says she can never reunite. Cora says for you, anything.
In the car, Cora is uncomfortable and pulls the plaque out from beneath her, pretending it6 was in the car all along. No fool, Regina asks when Cora was in her home. Cora ignores the questions and asks why it’s important. Regina says it’s her most sentimental piece because it was from Henry. Cora says that as long as Emma and her parents are around, Regina will never really have Henry. The town sees her as a snake because she has been bad for so long. Cora wants her daughter back, apologizes again and says she can do better. Cora pleads with her daughter to let Cora into Regina’s heart and promises that together, they can get him back. They hug. Regina asks how and Cora says she has a few thoughts.
It would seem that Cora won’t be admitting anything just yet. What could her plans for getting Henry back involve? Tune in next week to find out on “Once Upon A Time.”
