The season finale of "Once Upon a Time" season 3 is quickly approaching and fans are excited to find out how the season will conclude. On May 1, Comic Book Resources posted what co-creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz had to say about season 3 and the characters.
Edward Kitsis spoke to reporters at WonderCon Anaheim and said that while the fall was darker and moodier, he wanted the spring ending to be more fun. Essentially, they wanted it to be like two seasons. He also said that the "Once Upon a Time" season 2 finale will be like a two-hour movie. It won't be two episodes back to back, but will be written like a film.
As for what fans can expect on the final episode, he wouldn't reveal any major spoilers. However, he did say that viewers will be taken to a place where they will have no idea where it is going. Co-creator Adam Horowitz added that they are very excited for fans to see the finale.
The subject of Mary Margaret's baby was also brought up. In the Rapunzel episode, fans got to see a tiny bit of Charming's soul. He felt like he failed the first child and his wife and doesn't want to fail this time. Even though there is a lot of chaos surrounding the baby right now, Kitsis and Horowitz hope that fans can also see some joy.
Regina's storyline was also discussed. Kitsis said that she is the primary antagonist on "OUAT" and so it took some time to reveal her tragic past. They needed to put her emotional state in a place where she could actually experience some happiness. As fans know, Regina has a lot of walls up and has difficulty letting others in. The co-creator said about Regina experiencing love with Robin Hood,
“For Regina it was always whether she will let them down to let someone other than Henry in. We feel like what we want to do is show you what it would look like and what it would take.”
Enstarz also posted some information about the final episodes of "Once Upon a Time" season 3. According to the website, Regina and Robin Hood's relationship will be explored further and tested.
What do you think will happen on the "Once Upon a Time" season 2 finale? Keep watching ABC to find out. The final episode will air on May 11.
