Just as fans were thinking "Once Upon a Time" could not get any creepier, it just did. On Oct. 18, Rolling Stone broke the story that Marilyn Manson is set to join the cast sometime in November. The shock rocker is slated to be the voice of The Shadow.
While The Shadow first appeared in the end of season two and has already been seen this season, audiences have yet to hear its voice. The show’s creators and executive producers have voice enthusiasm for their casting choice. Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz stated to Rolling Stone
We’ve always been enormous fans of Marilyn Manson… We wanted to cast someone with the vocal ability to make our skin crawl.”
As Once Upon a Time enters into its third season, the twisted take of fairy tales has grown into a remarkable hit for ABC. Season three takes place in a nightmarish version of Neverland ruled by an evil Peter Pan (Robbie Kay). It features a rag tag team of composed of Emma (Jennifer Morrison), Regina (Lana Parrilla), Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue), Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Charming (Josh Dallas).
There is little doubt that Manson will spice things up this season, but what do you think of the casting choice? Was it purely for to grab headlines or will the rocker’s villainous vocals add another dimension to the show?
