On Dec. 14, "The Originals" star answered a few Twitter questions about her character. She revealed that her Rapunzel is going to be sweet and sassy, and she also used these words to describe the character: "Intelligent, genuine, compassionate, strong." So it sounds like Rapunzel should have no problem befriending Snow White.
"OUAT" fans can look forward to the princess donning a "stunning" new outfit, and Metz says that her wig is so big that she's "lost count" of just how many feet long it actually is. She didn't describe the wig any further, but hopefully it's dark and curly like her natural hair. Some fans were upset that "Once Upon a Time" didn't cast a blue-eyed blonde as Rapunzel, and others said that they want to see Alexandra Metz with a blonde wig. However, it would be awesome to see a Rapunzel with a waterfall of dark curly hair. Why can't the "Once Upon a Time" character be different than the girl in "Tangled?" The fun thing about "Once" is the way the show surprises viewers with its changes to classic fairy tale characters.
Speaking of "Tangled," Metz admits that she hasn't seen the movie, but this might be a good thing. The actress tweeted, "seeing Tangled when I get home for the holidays! Don't want her performance to influence mine ; )." Metz had "no comment" when she was asked if Flynn Ryder will appear on the show, but obviously Rapunzel will need a love interest. Maybe she'll fall for one of Robin Hood's merry men—Flynn had sticky fingers in "Tangled," so perhaps he's a member of Robin's band of thieves.
Unfortunately, "Once Upon a Time" fans will have to wait until after the midseason break to learn more about Rapunzel. And it sounds like Oncers will definitely be surprised by the new take on the fairy tale. When a fan asked her if there will be any twists to Rapunzel's story, Alexandra Metz responded by writing, "Oh man you have no idea. Woo!"
