Peter Pan has arrived in Storybrooke, albeit disguised in Henry’s body, and dubbed the town “The New Neverland.” Henry and the rest of the rescue party along with a few extra characters made it back to town in the 10th episode of “Once Upon A Time” which aired Sunday, Dec. 8. While the homecoming was warm and sweet, what unfolded after the initial reunion was anything but.

IN the area of reunions, there were several notable ones. Belle takes Ariel to find Eric who recognizes her immediately. As they are sharing a sweet kiss, the Jolly Roger splashes down. Wendy is reunited with her now fully grown brothers, John and Michael. And of course Belle and Mr. Gold/Rumple are reunited. Belles couldn’t shine brighter.

When Mary Margaret tells the town of how Regina helped in the rescue, it triggers a flashback to an earlier time in the Fairy Tale Land that Was. On her honeymoon, Snow White is unable to put thoughts of the Evil Queen out of her mind. She convinces Prince Charming to honeymoon at the Summer Palace, knowing there is something there she can use to defeat Regina.

She tries to ditch Charming and goes in pursuit of Regina but hubby is on to her and meets her in the woods. She tells him about Medusa. If you look Medusa in the eyes, you will be turned to stone. She can’t be killed but Snow thinks if they can cut off her head, they can use it to turn Regina to stone.

Medusa is tougher than our heroes anticipated and Charming ends up turned to stone. Snow battles on alone and she uses a reflective shield to turn Medusa herself to stone. The act frees Charming who is returned to flesh and blood. Snow is ready to let go of her obsession and get busy starting a family.

Back in Storybrooke, only Felix knows Pan is masquerading as Henry. It isn’t long before Emma notices Henry isn’t himself though. When she tries to tell Regina, Regina thinks Emma is just jealous because Henry wants to stay the night with her and not Emma.

The real Henry, who is trapped in Pandora’s Box, is sealed in an opening in Mr. Gold’s shop floor. Only Gold can free him and they all think they are safe from Pan.

Mr. Gold keeps his word and gives David a magical potion to permanently cure the effects of the Dreamshade poison. It works and David wants to know what it will cost him. Gold says nothing, for now. But he reminds them that they are now family and someday, he may need a favor.

Neal asks Emma out but she isn’t ready to focus on anything but Henry, not even when her dad has a heart to heart with her about focusing on the good moments in life. Hook, who has said he would back off pursuing Emma for now, turns his sites on Tink. She rebuffs his advances.

Pan as Henry is hanging with Regina and asks a lot of questions about her magic, an uncharacteristic stance. Unknown to any of them, he frees The Shadow which has been tapped in one of the Jolly Roger’s sails. It attacks and kills Mother Superior/The Blue Fairy. This can’t be good for Tinker Bell’s hopes of getting her wings back.

Now the townspeople know Pan is loose. Regina takes Henry to the vault to hide him from Pan. He gets his hands on a magic concoction and uses it to put her to sleep, then steals something else.

Emma suggests they release Pan from the box to see what’s going on. MR. Gold agrees but they take the box outside of town so there is no magic. Emma crosses the line with the box and opens it. Pan appears and Emma has her gun drawn on him in case he tries anything. He calls her ‘mom’ and tries to convince her that he is really Henry. She grills him about things only Henry would know and he passes her test. Now they all agree they have to find Pan.

Mr. Gold uses magic to open Regina’s vault and they find her unconscious. Pan is gone and Regina blames herself for not seeing through Pan. She wanted to believe Henry still needed her to be his mom. Henry assures her he does and hugs her tightly.

What Pan stole from the vault has both Regina and Mr. Gold worried. It’s the Dark Curse that Regina used to tear everyone from Fairy Tale Land and erase their memories. If Pan casts the spell in Storybrooke, they will all forget who they are again. Time will stop and Pan will preside over “The New Neverland.”
