Sometimes we'll come across some outrageous new trends on the runway that we feel couldn't possibly translate to what we would wear on an everyday basis, let alone at yoga class. However New York Fashion Week and yoga fashions might now be as removed from each other as we think. After all, many fashion designers are also yogis themselves.
- The twisted necklines on the runway at NYFW can also be seen in the twisted turbans that are popular among Kundalini yogis. With a variety of styles and fabrics, including soft Bamboo, cotton and cotton/poly bends Turbans by Venius can be seen in the studio and on the street as a "chic solution to a bad hair day."
- Soft, comfortable fabrics, like flannel, are making a comeback on the runway and on the yoga mat. Reebok's new yoga line created with Tara Stiles, offers super soft tops and pants with a more relaxed, while still flattering fit for yogis who like to move but aren't into the full on spandex movement.
So perhaps the real question isn't whether we would wear these trends, but rather where did they originate first, the runway or the yoga studio?
