On Thursday: Statehouse rally for Medicaid expansion in Ohio

Medicaid expansion in Ohio is on life support, according to an article in yesterday's Columbus Dispatch: "Despite weeks of public and private attempts at persuasion, the governor faces an unrelenting rebellion within his own party from lawmakers who oppose expanding Medicaid or even the remotest association with President Barack Obama’s Affordable Care Act."

The Ohio Liberty Coalition and other Tea Party-affiliated groups have threatened House Republicans with primary challenges in the next election if they support expanding Medicaid coverage to include 275,000 low-income Ohioans who currently don't have access to affordable health care.

At 12 noon on Thursday, April 11, supporters from across Ohio will gather at the Statehouse to demonstrate to the General Assembly that Medicaid expansion has broad public support.

Expanding Medicaid would save lives, improve the health of Ohioans, and bring significant economic benefits to Ohio. If you only take one action to support Medicaid expansion, this rally is the one to fit into your schedule.
