On the scene: Jill Stuart's Fall 2014 presentation

What happens when you try to tone down the wild child? According to Jill Stuart, the result is her A/W '14 collection, which debuted on Feb 8. Known for her innovative and sophisticated party girl pieces, Stuart nailed it yet again with another excellent line full of wearable chic separates and evening wear.

Front row attendees included noted fashion photographer Nigel Barker and actress Anna Kendrick, who is proving to be one of the busiest celebs this fashion week. The theme was reformed rock chick, but really we couldn't find anything reformed about it (not that we'd want it anyway).

What Stuart's collection lacked in color – the palette included neutrals like black, white, brown, camel, and deep reds and blues – it made up for with fun accessories and over-the-top fabrics (fur! so much fur!). Patterned tights took center stage and were embroidered or covered with sequins and sparkly black and gold dots.

Stuart was generous with her fabric selection, sampling everything from tons of fur to velvet, wool, silk, and leather, of course. She did the same with her shapes, offering up sexy slim strapless numbers right next to boxy, oversized coats.

Standout looks included a sequined dress with black fur coat paired with the sparkly tights, a calf length leather dress with oversized cranberry wool coat, black and white cocktail dress with embroidered flowers, and a sheer black dress with embroidery down the middle.

Beauty was sexy, yet fresh with blown out wavy hair and a smoky eye.
