On Saturday, May 24, 2014, supermodel and host Heidi Klum attended her Hamptons Magazine cover party at Southampton Social Club. Hamptons magazine Publisher, Debra Halpert and Editor in Chief, Samantha Yanks hosted the glossy’s 36th annual Memorial Day celebration. Klum looks stunning in a dress by Juan Carlos Obando on the cover. The cover story was written by her "Project Runway" co-star, Tim Gunn.
Notables we spotted at the party included Aviva Drescher, Rosanna Scotto, Chris Wragge and actress Rachel Heller, to name a few. The private party was hosted by Diddy's CÎROC Vodka. Guests were spotted sipping on "Ciroc & Lemonade," "Coco Loso," which consists of Ciroc Coconut and pineapple juice, and the "Skinny Cosmo," which is made of Ciroc Red Berry, cranberry juice and a squeeze of lime.
Per usual the food was amazing. We loved the Mediterranean Skewer, which had mozzarella, tomatoes and olives. Another highlight was the edamame dumplings with sweet thai chili sauce. Guests couldn't get enough of the chicken lollipops and the white truffle macaroni and cheese pastry cups. Other menu highlights included chicken quesadillas, a pear brie cheese purse, lobster rolls on croissants, mini crab cakes, bacon wrapped in scallops and mini lamp shanks.
The party also featured a Ploom lounge and an opportunity to sample Ploom's tobacco vaporizers. Martin Codax served fine wine and guests also enjoyed premium beer by Peroni Nastro Azzurro. DJ Chris Bachmann kept the crowd dancing and there was also a live saxophonist. Porsche of Southampton showcased its new 2014 Porsche 911. Heidi stayed the entire party and was spotted taking selfies with guests and chatting with her longtime friend Joe Zee. She also took a moment to thank everyone for coming to her cover party.
In her interview with Hamptons Magazine when asked how she balances her hectic schedule with family, Klum said "When I have days off, I pile that time with fun things for the kids to do. We go to the beach and play in the sand or they go in the ocean or we go on a bike ride or do a picnic with friends. They go to soccer, ballet, or karate, or we do play dates at the house with big barbecues or swimming parties, and we have a trampoline outside. We go on hikes with the dogs. When I do 'Project Runway' in New York, all those days when the designers are working and I’m off, I do things with my kids. I go and see all of the Broadway shows, or we take the double-decker bus around the city and see all of the highlights of New York City or we go to the Statue of Liberty. I always think of things for them to do to keep them entertained and make it memorable. On days when I’m shooting, they go to school."
Before heading to the Hamptons Magazine party we stopped by the Stadiumred Estate as they kicked off the summer with a BBQ hosted by Tequila Don Julio's bespoke mobile bar. Guests enjoyed special cocktails, music by DJ Philip Nikolic and food by chef Cynthia Sestito. The estate is beautiful and has a lake in the backyard. Notables who attended the party included Hilary Rhoda and Sean Avery.
Cocktails that were served included the shaken "Al Este Lado" made of Don Julio Blanco, cucumber, lime and mint, the "Margarita" made of Don Julio Blanco, lime, agave and frozen grapes and "Jalisco Garden," made of Don Julio Reposado, kale, pineapple, lime and jalapeno. Another popular drink was "Speakeasy Lemonade," made of Don Julio Reposado, thyme, lemonade and red stripe beer. Last, but not least the "Westward Leaning Paloma," was also a party favorite, which was made of Don Julio 70, Grapefruit Cordial and Lavender Soda.
The food was also delicious. Guest enjoyed slow smoke BBQ pork sliders, Don Julio marinated steak, Hamptons fish filet, Don Julio infused tartar sauce and hot dogs. Sides included salad of black pearl, burmese rice, pecans, grilled veggies and macaroni and cheese. For dessert we snacked on chocolate pie, cookies and sorbet. Guests used the hashtag #donjuliosummer to commemorate their adventure.
Yesterday on May 25, we stopped by Tenet for their Memorial Day Weekend celebration. Soludos and Tenet have teamed up to create a custom store-in-store in Tenet's Southampton location. The store will be anchored by a custom built Soludos beach bar staffed with a dedicated Soludos employee. Instead of tropical cocktails, the bar will be serving up the best of the new Soludos Spring / Summer collection alongside tasty summertime treats such as fresh pineapple water. Soludos will also be creating custom window displays for the Tenet window. The bar will be open to the public through Labor Day.
Yesterday on May 25, we also stopped by the Peloton in East Hampton, which just opened this weekend. Peloton is the only at-home fitness solution for live and on-demand indoor cycling classes. The nearly 3,000 square-foot space includes seven demo Peloton bikes for store guests to experience as well as complimentary Aquaçai bottled water, among other amenities as the summer progresses. The store will also carry clothing by VPL, Splits 59, Beyond Yoga, Pret-a-Surf, and ALO.
