The new flagship is an important step in reestablishing the brand in the LA market. “I love LA. The city is an iconic U.S. destination and the new West Coast flagship celebrates the brand’s long history of involvement and collaboration in art and entertainment,” said Tommy Hilfiger. “Robertson Boulevard is the perfect home for all our collections. LA’s unique style embraces the relaxed vibe, youthful spirit and irreverent attitude at the foundation of our brand philosophy.” To celebrate both the brand in LA and the P.S. ARTS collaboration, Tommy Hilfiger hosted a two-tiered event on February 13th. A mix of fashion influencers and LA notables joined Tommy for cocktails at the expansive new Robertson Boulevard flagship, where they enjoyed Drew Barrymore’s eponymously named Pinot Grigio.

We spoke with Tommy Hilfiger on the red carpet and he reflected on his signature look. "I like preppy on an ongoing basis, but I always like to make it new and fresh and different, so anything that is colorful, bright, but with a new shade." He continued that one trend everyone should look out for is "stripes. Red, white and blue stripes, nautical stripes, elongated stripes, I think that graphic, seeing something very graphic is very important." One celebrity he would have loved to dress is Jackie Kennedy.

We also caught up with rock icon Mark Ramone, the only living member of The Ramones. He told us that that outside of making music, he has created a pasta sauce. When asked what is his favorite restaurant in the entire world, he stated it is a restaurant in New York owned by a close friend that uses his pasta sauce in their dishes.

Next up we chatted with "Fashion Police" TV personality and stylist George Kotsiopoulos. "I just like anything that is a little bit preppy with an edge and you know [Tommy Hilfiger] always infuses a little bit of rock and roll in everything that he does."

Inside the store cocktail party we spotted Lisa VanderPump and her husband, Ken Todd, from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Drew Barrymore, Julianna Hough, Scooter Braun, Cameron Silver, Cash Warren, Jessica Alba, Danny Masterson, Olivia Munn, Ioan Gruffudd, Ed Westwick, Darren Criss, Steve Cojocaru, and Matthew Settle.

Following the store event guests were given signature Tommy Hilfiger leather wristbands to attend an exclusive after party at an undisclosed location in West Hollywood. It was the highlight of our evening. As guests entered the private club they were ushered into a digital installation of Tommy Hilfiger’s Fall 2013 Men’s and Women’s fashion shows – presented on the runway during New York Fashion Week just days before.

The champagne was bubbling and delicious hors d'oeuvres were being served. There were two main rooms. One was the patio where we were surrounded by couches and ponds and a small bar. It was a romantic atmosphere. The next room was where all the magic happened. The VIP table was right in front of the stage. This area was exclusively for VIP celebrities. Jessica Alba showed up with Cash Warren. They immediately were joined by Tommy and Dee Hilfiger. The two couples mingled. Soon after, Kim Kardashian arrived with Kanye West and Kris Jenner. Kim and Jessica instantly bonded and had girls chat on the couch, while Kanye mingled with Tommy and Dee Hilfiger. Soon after, Katy Perry showed and joined them. Jennifer Lopez also showed up with her boyfriend Casper. We spotted Kim K and JLo chatting. Everyone was posing for pictures and joking.

Tommy then took the stage to introduce the special surprise performer: Alicia Keys. The crowd cheered and was enjoying the vibes. After she sang her hit, "Empire State of Mind," she asked if she should do an LA version. Of course the crowd got excited, so she did that remix and the crowd went wild. As Keys sang a few more of her hits, everyone continued to socialize. A little bit later two more special performances were witnessed. Mark Ramone hit the stage and the night ended with a surprise performance by Axl Rose (one of Tommy’s favorite artists and friends) of Gun N' Roses.

Overall, it was an enchanting evening. As we were leaving the party we spotted Swizz Beatz, La Toya Jackson and Kathy Hilton, Apparently, Kathy and LaToya are best buds. They were in high spirits and were complimenting and joking with everyone that crossed their path.

The event was the culmination of a dedicated LA marketing takeover that included a unique advertising campaign featuring a play on the iconic “Hollywood” sign and The Hilfigers from the Spring 2013 collections. The Hilfigers flew into LA to celebrate the West Coast flagship opening, wearing looks from the new campaign on the red carpet. In honor of the new flagship opening, The Tommy Hilfiger Corporate Foundation also announced its partnership with P.S. ARTS and commitment to endow and develop a multi-year arts education curriculum in two schools in the Los Angeles school district, Walgrove Elementary School and Grand View Elementary.
