"The Croods" is a 3D comedy adventure that follows the world's first modern family through the journey of a lifetime. When the cave that has always been their home is destroyed – with the rest of their world not far behind it – The Croods are forced to set off on the first family road (or path) trip. Rocked by generational clashes and seismic shifts, The Croods discover an incredible new world filled with fantastic creatures, and a future beyond any they imagined.
Examiner.com was on the red carpet for the New York premiere of the film yesterday at AMC Loews Lincoln Square 13. From the film: Ryan Reynolds, Emma Stone, Nicolas Cage, Catherine Keener, producers Kristine Belson and Jane Hartwell, and directors Kirk DeMicco and Chris Sanders all walked the red carpet.
Keener enjoyed working with Director Chris Sanders. She said, "He is a very unique person, visionary, artist, hilarious, good guy and it was great."
Ryan Reynolds looked cozy in a GANT Rugger Gathering Sweater and Light Weight Tee from its spring collection. Reynolds has been seen in GANT Rugger a lot recently - first in London early last week, a Today Show appearance last Friday and now to his NYC premiere. Emma Stone looked chic Lanvin.
Additional celebrities in attendance included Robyn Lively, Illusionist David Copperfield and Blake Lively. Copperfield said that his favorite animated films are "Ratatouille, Gnomeo and Juliette (my friend directed it), Shrek, and Meet The Robinsons."
Following the screening, Ryan Reynolds and his wife/actress Blake Lively and 25 of their closest friends enjoyed themselves by celebrating with brunch at restaurant Sugar and Plumm in NYC's Upper West Side over Milkshakes, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Crunch Toast and Grits. The restaurant surprised the group with a three-tier homemade "The Croods" themed cake that everyone indulged in along with Sugar and Plumm's famed Earthquake in a Fishbowl dessert.
