The 39th Deauville American Festival kicked off with an opening ceremony on August 30, 2013 in Deauville, France, inviting celebs such Cate Blanchett, Forest Whitaker and Michael Douglas who were there to promote their films.
Cate looked lovely in her ivory Armani Prive lace dress with long sleeves, teamed with metallic shoes also by Armani Prive and Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry.
The 44-year-old Australian actress also presented her film “Blue Jasmine” featuring her in the title role and also starring actors Alec Baldwin, Sarsgaaard and Andrew Dice Clay.
Posing next to a beach closet dedicated to her at a photocall today, Cate Blanchett looked chic in her black pantsuit and dark sunglasses.
Today Michael Douglas attended a photocall next to a beach closet dedicated to him on the Promenade des Planches for his new film “Behind the Candelabra” in which he plays pianist Liberace, also starring Matt Damon as his partner Scott Thorson.
Michael looked casual yet elegant in his natural colored linen suit, teamed with a pretty mint green shirt. With him was director Steven Soderbergh, also donning a putty colored jacket with his black shirt and pants. But yesterday as they arrived for the opening of the festival, both men wore dark suits and lavender ties!
Forest Whitaker was their with his daughter Sonnet Whitaker to promote the film “The Butler” which premiered on August 30th, also starring Oprah Winfrey, Jane Fonda and John Cusack.
Also attending the Deauville American Film Festival in style were Fanny Valette in her layered black mini, Gabriella Wright in her beaded black gown, Melita Toscan Du Plantier also in a black gown, Lou Doillon in her LBD (little black dress) with a black leather belt, and members of the Jury Revelation Cartier jurors Laurence Arne and Vincent Lacoste, also in black!
