R&B soul artist, K'Jon, has done it again with the release of his latest soon-to-be hit single, "A Man," off the forthcoming double disc album, "Man" and "Without a Woman." On Monday September 23, Singersroom released two of his first singles off of each album from the anticipated double disc slated for a November release.
The first single, "A Man" off the "Man" disc immediately takes you to the moment where we were first introduced to the smooth soulful sound of Detroit native,K'Jon, with the release of his 2009 debut single, "On the Ocean." The single, off the album "I Get Around," quickly reached number one on the Urban AC Radio charts and number 12 on Billboard's R&B charts.
Not only were fans captivated by his sound but, by the lyrics of the song as well. "Now the tide is coming in/I see the winds blowing/out here on the ocean/I know my ship is coming in.." were words that signified hope and never giving up on your dreams even though it may seem like your time has passed you by.
During a past interview with Singersroom, K'Jon was quoted saying, “That song came out of my heart. I felt like my time was passing while I was in the midst of all these movers and shakers and all the hype… I felt like my time was not going to come.”
But, his time did come and is yet here again with the forthcoming Up & Up Records, November 3 double disc releases. This is rnb describes the 1st CD entitled ‘Without A Woman‘ as a collection of modern and traditional R&B songs, while the 2nd CD ‘MAN,’ is an assortment of vintage inspired but original songs, reminiscent of the early Motown days.
Take a listen to the single "A Man" for that Motown comparison, and you'll feel it too.
