Olympian Bill Scherr and Upper Iowa University wrestling coach Heath Grimm will be guests for the "On The Mat" radio broadcast this Wednesday, Feb. 20, the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum announced Tuesday.
Scherr, a three-time NCAA All-American at University of Nebraska (and 1984 NCAA champ at 190 pounds), was a World freestyle wrestling championships in the 1985. He was also a bronze medalist at the 1988 Olympic Games. Scherr was recently named the chairperson for the Committee for the Preservation of Olympic Wrestling.
Grimm has headed up the Peacock mat program since the 2000-01 season. Upper Iowa will host the NCAA Division II Super Regional III at Young Arena in Waterloo on Sunday, February 24.
