On The Lookout! will be a series featuring older figures to keep on the look out for better prices at anime conventions or shopping online. The first featured figure is Alter's Arcueid. Released in 2007, it came out after the most up to date home release version of the Japanese fighting game Melty Blood: Act Cadenza Ver. B, following up the buzz of the game's release. Arcueid is not only a playable character in the Melty Blood series of fighting games, but she is originally the main heroine in Type-Moon's visual novel Tsukihime. As of this writing, this figure is usually at the $300-$400 mark, so finding it at any lower is a steal. Seeing as it is made by Alter, the quality is some of the best out there. The nicely defined creases not only show how her clothes act towards the wind that the figure makes you believe is there, but it also shows that while Arcueid looks like a nice and peaceful person, her claw like pose her hands have remind the viewer that she might be more dangerous than she initially looks. Another thing that will make this figure even more special is the fact that Arcueid is getting redesigned in the upcoming remake of Tsukihime. She will no longer have a long flowing dress, but will instead be wearing a miniskirt. Her color scheme will be the same, but her hair will have less volume and slightly shorter. So in light of the redesign, this figure will be a reminder of how her design was originally. I have provided a picture of the redesign at the end of the slideshow to have as a comparison to the original look.
