The Accidental City: Improvising New Orleans by Lawrence N. Powell 2012; Harvard University Press

Reading these two books side to side, or back to back, or with narratives woven together, makes me feel a giddy, dizzy new love for New Orleans. I am Trickster, my neighbors are Trickster, and we live in a very accidental city. We Tricksters are constantly improvising.
