It's going to be a busy Saturday tomorrow, August 28, 2010. HARRA is holding the Party in the Park at Memorial Park from 7 to 10 AM. Come by for a run and free refreshments including ice cold water, Gatorade, and premium beer.
There will also be music and representatives from the Houston area running clubs. If you've been shopping around for a club, this is a good time to show up and find one that suits you.
Also on Saturday's agenda is the Clear Lake International Triathlon which will be staged at the Clear Lake Park on NASA Rd. 1. The temperature will be in the mid 70s when the race kicks off at 7 AM, but expect the mercury to rise rapidly.
This is actually a 2 race event, an Olympic distance and a sprint distance. Note: Both races have filled up, so for anyone not registered, it's still a great opportunity to come by and watch. The directions, from the web site, are, "From I-45, take the Nasa Road One exit and head east approximately 6-7 miles. You will pass NASA Space Center and the Hilton. Cross Space Center Blvd with the lake on your right. Look for Clear Lake Park within 1/2 mile with parking on your left (swim and transition area on your right)."
