On tap: DFW craft beer events, week of March 24

Examiner picks of the week.
Examiner picks of the week.
Goodfriend, Real Ale, Flying Saucer Draught Emporium, Armadillo Ale Works

With warmer temperatures looking to take hold in the Metroplex, it's somewhat ironic that social media will soon be inundated with the words "Winter is Coming." Season four of HBO's Game of Thrones premieres on April 6, which of course means a new beer is on the way from Ommegang. Fire and Blood Red Ale will be unleashed to the public on Wednesday night at Goodfriend.

From there, those looking to hit the ground running after the work week on Friday will have to choose between a vintage tapping of 2012 Firestone Walker Sucaba at the Common Table, or the 1 Year Anniversary Party for Armadillo Ale Works at the Oak St. Drafthouse. The latter will feature the debut of the Armadillo's newest release, Brunch Money. It's part of a three-day roll out for that beer, which includes tappings at Craft and Growler on Saturday and the Bearded Lady on Sunday.

Also available for the first time this week is Blakkr, the much-anticipated collaboration between Real Ale, 3 Floyds and Surly Brewing. Catch that one Friday at Whole Foods (cans only) and Goodfriend, or Sunday at The Bearded Lady.

Lastly, a number of interesting options are on the table for the weekend. Those on Saturday include Ales & Tails 3 at FireWheel, the Design District Market at Community, and the the Dogfish Head Experience at the Fort Worth Flying Saucer. Then on Sunday, it's the Martin House One Year Anniversary party, also happening at the Fort Worth Saucer.
