On tap: DFW craft beer events, week of March 17

Examiner picks of the week.
Examiner picks of the week.
World of Beer, Prairie Artisan Ales, Holy Grail Pub, Deschutes Brewery, Bluebonnet Brew-Off

Well, it's St. Patrick's Day, and if you feel compelled to go out in search of green beer, at least find a way to #drinklocal!

As for the week's highlights, two events on the calendar feature highly sought after brews. The first of these happens on Tuesday at World of Beer Arlington, where they'll be tapping Bomb!, as well as three varieties of Noir from Prairie Artisan Ales. Then, two nights later at the Holy Grail Pub, it doesn't get much better than a 2012 vintage offering of The Abyss from Deschutes.

Looking towards the weekend, the Westin DFW Airport plays host to the largest single-site homebrewing company in the country. It's the 28th Annual Bluebonnet Brew-Off, a two-day celebration of beer featuring a key note address by Eric Warner of Houston's Karbach Brewing Company, a room-crawl and commercial tasting. It all goes down Friday and Saturday, March 21-22. Check the website for schedule and details.
