On tap: DFW craft beer events, week of January 13

Isn't January supposed to be a slow month in the world of craft beer? I guess when you have 17 local brands and truckloads of new beer coming in from out-of-state, it means things are never really going to slow down.

In any case, one thing that's new this week is the Total Beer Experience going on at area Total Wine locations. Running from January 15-25, there will be tastings, beer dinners and meet and greets with local and national industry professionals. And yeah, it looks an awful lot like that thing that a certain gourmet grocer puts on every year. Check out the full list of events here.

Speaking of beer dinners, this week's calendar features four (besides the regularly scheduled Pour Man's dinner at the Common Table, of course). These include tonight's Franconia Beer Dinner at the Holy Grail, affairs with Rahr at Boxwood T+G and Alaskan at Rugby House on Tuesday, and the Community Beer Dinner at Cook Hall on Friday.

The Community dinner is actually one of two events the brewery is hosting to celebrate their first year in the brewing business. The other is the 1 Year Anniversary Party, happening on Saturday during regular tour hours. Your $20 ticket gets you access to 15 beers, music by Shotgun Friday and a commemorative Belgian beer glass.

Finally, the Fort Worth Flying Saucer lists an Avery Experience for Saturday. Details have yet to be posted, but the price of admission will be $45.

Cheers!
