The WWE is letting tag teams get a push for the first time in a long time. Part of this is because the WWE is pushing two super-teams of singles stars paired together: Chris Jericho and Big Show, as well as Degeneration X of Shawn Michaels and Triple H. Another team might be joining these two after Smackdown, The Brothers of Destruction, Undertaker and Kane. The tag ranks also feature two future stars in Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase, The Legacy, one mini-super-team of MVP and Mark Henry and, finally, two normal tag teams in The Hart Dynasty and Cryme Tyme. Of all these teams, only the tag champions, Jericho and Big Show, are interbrand, allowed to travel between shows. There are pros and cons to this being the case, so let’s take a closer look at the following question: Should all tag teams be allowed to go from brand to brand?
Jericho and Big Show being the only tag team that can be on two brands raises the prestige of their titles. That’s important because of how devalued the tag titles have become in modern times. Teams need a reason to chase these titles that they’ve ignored for so long and have to team reasonably regularly (or earn the whim of a guest host) to earn a title shot. This is all very good for the titles and those who hold them, but what of the other tag teams on the roster?
Although Jericho and Big Show can travel interbrand, they only face one challenger at a time on the Pay Per View. That means that they’re left hanging around as a fill-in team in others feuds on one show, while the other actually features them building there match. Granting their opponents the opportunity to jump shows with them at least when they’re number one contender, if not always once they’re established as a real team, would mean that their feuds could be more complete and compelling, building momentum they just can’t when the champions only care about them half the time.
Further, there’s a predictability to having only the unified champions on both shows. In that case only certain contenders are credible- MVP and Henry or the Hart Dynasty isn’t valuable enough to be on both shows, so we know they can’t beat JeriShow. If, at least, the number one contender could appear on both shows, then only one would have to be a real draw. The Hart Dynasty could be champions on both shows and not required to draw because their main opponents the number one contenders, say Degeneration X, could travel between shows with them.
For these reasons, it’s my conclusion that the Unified Tag Champions and the number one contender for their titles should both be able to jump shows. What do you think? Comment below!

They ain't building any feud for the titles at all right now...The titles are as non-credible as ever...every tag team in WWE should be chasing this gold like wild, interfering in the champs matches...making clear they want the titles, if they want them to mean anything...there's nothing against using Jericho and Big Show in the world title picture...as longs as teams like the hart dynasty, Cody/Ted, Cryme Tyme and Henry/MVP would always make clear...that they will be coming over the gold next chance possible....that's the fault with the titles I thinkg, not at all any cross-brand-limitation!
