There is a Latin saying that states "Omnia vincit amor, et nos cedamus amori." In English, it means "Love conquers all, and let us yield to it." According to 123greetings.com, today, June 3, is Love Conquers All Day, and in the words of Carrie Bradshaw, I couldn't help but wonder--does love really conquer all?
Martin Luther King, Jr. stated: "Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into friend." This is a great quote, and some good advice to take to heart. After all, the theory of loving thy enemy dates back into biblical times, but quite honestly, its not really the easiest thing to do. It is definitely not an easy task to like, let alone love, someone who isn't necessarily your "cup of tea." Maybe its someone you just don't see eye-to-eye with, or a co-worker who inexplicably doesn't like you, or that person who is just always in a bad mood. Its generally easiest to either avoid these people, or maybe talk badly of them, or make snide comments to their face.Certainly, you might feel good right then and there, but in the long run, all you are going to accomplish is...nothing. And a REAL flirty girl doesn't act this way!
During almost 29 years of life on this earth, if I've learned nothing else, I've learned that worrying about what people think is just a waste of time. All that is going to do is bring you down, and you know what? People can only bring you down if you let them. So don't! Next time someone is trying to get under your skin, just shrug it off. Be your fabulous flirty self, and treat them with a smile and a kind word instead of what you usually might do! Perhaps, even just for today, give it a try.
Who knows....maybe love really CAN conquer all! I mean after all, isn't love all you need? Maybe thats an optimist's point of view--but I don't think a little optimism ever hurt anyone, did it? There is only one way to know for sure...
