On Facebook Lately? Many users were redirected to an error page (Video)

On Facebook lately? Facebook was recently the source of a big problem. The problem occurred between 10 to 25 minutes--among those attempting to access several popular sites-- such as Hulu, Pinterest, The Huffington Post, Buzzfeed, etc., were redirected and sent to a Facebook error page.

The following message was displayed: "An error occurred. Please try again later."
Anyone who was logged into their Facebook account was redirected from the website--through the Facebook Connect API--to an error page. The problem happened when a bug affected Facebook Connect. The widely used log-in system which allows users to access third-party sites with their Facebook identity.

Connect is source for Facebook users--this system means that users don't have to type in their information every time they visit a new website. Making it easier for users to share information on multiple social sites. It is estimated that about 10,000 websites daily are integrated with this system--estimated at 10 million sites.

The Facebook Connect system unintentionally broke through the whole Internet for a short period of time on Thursday night--but long enough to be noticed. Facebook responded with a brief statement which gave little answers or an apology.

Although this problem became an inconvenience to users--the problem was fixed promptly. Those who are on Facebook can now Log-in without any glitches.
