On deck:Red Bull Indianapolis GP

Every once in a while. I find a sporting event that makes me want to hop in a car and take a ride. Many I've covered for you here. We've shot NBA player George Hill's jersey retirement at IUPUI. Taken a look at the Charlotte Knights. Went around MLB to see the competition of the Cubs and Sox. NBA Summer League action. And...well, you get the idea.

I was recently turned on another travel-worthy event, the Red Bull Indianapolis GP, hosted this weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Now in the third year of its second go-around at IMS, the Red Bull is positioning itself to be everything that Formula 1 racing at IMS wasn't. Accessible, fan friendly, and long-lived.

A premier event in Grand Prix motorcycle racing, the event runs all weekend, with race day Sunday. We reached out to the Red Bull GP team, who were kind enough to provide a schedule of events, which are seen below. For those not quite ready to pick up the pigskin yet, this sounds like a winning weekend to me.
