OMTL: Day 30 provocations

RAGBRAI riders dipped their tires in both rivers.  Photo-iastate.edu

In the late 1980's and early 1990's I completed the RAGBRAI--a bicylce ride across the state of Iowa three times.  It averages about 500 miles.  It was a challenging and enjoyable journey.  It always began on the west side of the state and ended on the east.  Tradition requiredd that your tires be dipped in the rivers bordering the state at both ends.

The first year I took 3 other Marines.  By my third ride, we took 40 Marines and Sailors as part of Team Marine.  When it was over, we had stories to tell but we were glad it was over.  My bicyle went back in the garage and I went back to my normal fitness routine of running 7 miles a day instead cycling a much farther distance.  The RAGBRAI was fun but I was glad when it was over.

So too is the One Month to Live challenge.  The month has reached its final day.

That one is in the books!

Great study!
What a good time that was!
This will make all the difference in my life!

Thank God it’s over—I have so much to catch up on!

That doesn't exactly have the ring of sincere thanks, or perhaps it does?

Yes, it is time to get back to real life. The question is what will that real life be—the same one you were living a month ago or real life. Will you take this past month that really only required about 15-30 hours worth of reading, perhaps another 10 hours of class or group time, and perhaps a few minutes for some personal notes and make it a life changer?
Or will you put the book on the shelf and say, “where was I?”

Let’s operate from the premise that you really want to live this life to the full. Here are today’s provocations.
1.       Make a new bucket list—this time based on what you believe God wants you to do in this life.
2.       Prioritize it—most important on the top.
3.       Make a list of your notes from the 30 day challenge.
4.       Give your book to someone else or give them the www.onemonthtolive.info link.
5.       Pray. Pray for God to release you from whatever held you back from living fully in the past.
6.       Listen. God will speak to you in so many ways if you will just be still.
7.       Live today as the fullest day of your life.
