OMTL: Day 10 provocations

Do we think that God hurt less when He forgave us?  Photo-wordpress.com

Day 10 provocations

To really explore the depths of God's forgiveness, we should spend weeks trying to understand God's divine heart.  This is the image that we should reflect.  For those up to the challenge, let's take a deeper look at forgiveness in today's provocations.
  • Can we forgive and forget? God tells us that he will remember our sin no more. Consider those people whom we say that we have forgiven. Have we really forgiven them? Do we remember their sin against us no more?
  • Human nature says forgive, but don’t forget. Let the trespass go, but keep an eye on them for the next time. Consider the things for which God has forgiven you. How would you like Him to enforce the forgive but not forget policy with you?
  • Can we truly forgive if we cannot forget the offense?
  • Jesus said don’t just forgive three times, or seven times, but seventy times seven times. Are you kidding me? Must we really keep forgiving people over and over?
  • Have we ever sought God’s forgiveness for something, and then done the exact same thing again? Three times? Seven times? More?

Congratulations!  This has been a tough area of exploration, but you are a third of the way through this one month journey.
