Yesterday, video game publisher Kalypso Media announced that a playable demo for “Omerta – City of Gangsters” is now available for the Xbox 360, and with that news also came the revelation that a new content update would be coming soon for both versions.
The simulation game’s single-player demo can be downloaded on the Xbox 360 through Xbox Live now and gives gamers the chance to play through two levels from the Prohibition-era gangster game. If you’ve been curious about the title, now is your chance to try it and see if the turn-based tactical combat is right for you. You can learn more about “Omerta – City of Gangsters” by visiting the official site.
The newly announced free content update is expected to be available for both the Xbox 360 and PC versions in the next 4-8 weeks and will include quite a few changes based on community feedback. Here are some of the update’s features that gamers can look forward to from Kalypso Media. The list is, of course, subject to additions as well as changes.
- New maps for multiplayer and sandbox modes
- Enemy gang for sandbox mode, operating independently and taking over businesses - can both attack the player and be attacked by the player
- Customizable game settings and goals for sandbox games
- Economy overview panel for current businesses with their efficiency, profit, ect.
- Visual representation of individual business types on the strategic map via icons
- Additional difficulty setting and "Iron Man" option (saving progress in strategic mode disabled)
