The rumors have finally been proven true, and Jeff Garcia is now the starting QB for the first UFL expansion team. Some may say this is a good sign for this league, but another piece of news happened today that may damage this leagues standing a bit.

On one hand I think the news that Zach Nelson, CEO of NetSuite, has bought into the United Football League’s Omaha franchise is good. On another the news that he is looking to bring in other owners seems kind of troubling.

Omaha Nighthawks begin to build their franchise

The Omaha Nighthawks might be the newest team to join the United Football League, but already they are putting together a solid front office, and a roster full of players with NFL experience. They have hired Ted Sundquist to be their Director of Player Personnel. Ted was formerly the General Manger of the Denver Broncos. In his time there the Broncos amassed a 58-38. He was very adapt working with head coach Mike Shanahan at finding players that fit the Broncos system. The initial work on the Omaha roster was done by UFL Director of Personnel Rick Mueller and Head Coach Jeff Jagodzinski.
