Looks like 2013 is shaping up to be the year of the two films about White House takeovers. The first film comes from Antoine Fuqua, director of Training Day and stars Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, and Morgan Freeman.
A one-line synopsis from IMDB tells the story beautifully: A former Secret Service agent works to prevent a terrorist attack on the White House.
Gerard Butler is that agent who has a trick or two up his sleeves and Aaron Eckhart plays the POTUS. In addition to the main stars already mentioned the supporting crew is not bad at all. In fact, Olympus Has Fallen has a pretty outstanding cast of characters that include: Robert Forster, Angela Bassett, Dylan McDermot, Ashley Judd, and Rick Yune.
I mentioned that Olympus Has Fallen is one of two White House disaster films to be released this year. The other film is called White House Down, which will star Channing Tatum as the military operative who will be protecting the POTUS played by Jaime Foxx, and directed by Roland Emmerich. White House Down opens in June.
Olympus Has Fallen has gotten the jump on White House Down. It hits theaters March 22.
