Olympics in Vancouver: New England sends two athletes

Hockey player, Jennifer Wakefield,  lives in Durham, NH.

Bobsleigh teammate, Erin Pac, lives in Farmington, CT.

Bode Miller has hinted at retirement. The alpine skier lives in Franconia, NH. (wikipedia). One statement made is, He plans to ski next season but won't commit to the Vancouver Olympics." source

Jennifer Wakefield lives in New Hampshire. Jennifer is on Canada's hockey team playing forward. She's 20 years old, 5 feet 9 inches and weighs 170 pounds.

In the bobsleigh event you'll see Erin Pac from Connecticut. Erin is 29 and is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 169 pounds.

Alpine skier, Bode Miller, lives in New Hampshire. He's 32, 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 192 pounds. (See my article about the show, The Superstars. Miller was on it.) He has not currently been chosen for the team. This article will be updated when and if he skies.

You may look at the women's weights and think they are high. That goes to show you how fit you can be without having your ribs sticking out. Also the two women compete in sports that require strength. I can assure you a that weight is muscle and not fat.

miller's going to the Olympics? for what team? I don't think you're allowed to use that pic either, the one with the USST shield on it, he quit that team years ago

The U.S. Olympic Team for alpine skiing will be named in late January of 2010. It's impossible to determine at this point if Miller will ski.

Hi Skifan - if you go to the url listed above - The Olympic team as of today- you will see that at this point, unpredictable Miller, is on the team. As I said to fact checker, the team can change at any time.

That site you link to is not in any way listing the Olympic Teams. It's just a TV site.

At usskiteam.com, there is no mention of Miller. And I for one have no idea if he is allowed to ski in the Games if he is not on a national team.

It doesn't matter to me if EXAMINER wants to let its bloggers speculate, but they should not be listed as Google News contributors if we can't get verifiable information.

Ok factchecker -it is not worth fighting about. I am a pacifist anyway! I have altered my piece hopefully to your satisfaction.
