Olympics inspiration - Jesse Owens

As the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver draw closer, we are reminded of perhaps the greatest inspirational story from past Olympic games.  Jesse Owens story  is one of overcoming extreme odds to become a champion and solidify his place in history.

As we go through our work day, we are faced with challenges large and small.  How will I meet my monthly quota in this recession?  How can I navigate office politics to get that promotion?  Why does my management impose such impossible deadlines?  Why won't the damned printer work?

Contemplating the stories of  those who have overcome amazing hurdles (no pun intended) to achieve greatness can be a powerful antidote to our own dismay and ennui at work.
