Rumor has been confirmed: five-time Olympic swimming champion Ryan Lochte will get his own reality show on cable channel E!
Ryan Lochte was traipsing around swimming pools across his residential state of Florida, across the country and across the world in his fashionable swimming trunks and sneakers as he competed in competition after competition to prove his mettle but now it seemed that he has achieved the pinnacle of success in contemporary terms by securing his own reality television show!
He may not have quite lived up to his aspirations of beating out prime competitor Michael Phelps in getting all the gold – Phelps took most of the Olympic gold with his many wins – but his spirit, model good looks and modeling contract with Ralph Lauren as well as appearing in Town & Country as a clothes horse has cemented his future success in television as well as the fashion industry.
Turns out that Lochte is working on his own fashion line as he trains to compete in the 2016 Rio Olympics in Brazil.
Reportedly, Lochte’s fashion collection will feature over 150 pairs of shoes and an eclectic assortment of glitzy accessories, which he is fond of wearing himself...
Cable channel E! is offering Lochte a chance to give us, the public as well as his adoring fans, to get a glimpse into what it is to be juggling the daunting task of training as an athlete in the Olympics at the ripe old age of 28, starting your own fashion line, making media appearances and interacting with his friends and family. Add to that, Ryan’s pressing need to find himself a girlfriend.
In addition, the series will star Ryan’s Cuban mother Ike, his older married sisters Kristen and Megan, his younger brother and roommate Devon and his little nephews.
The E! series is slated to be called “What Would Ryan Lochte Do?” and will span six exciting episodes in April.
As to why they chose to follow the life of Ryan Lochte, E! Entertainment president Suzanne Kolb states that Ryan Lochte had “captured everyone's attention at the Summer Olympics with his athletic prowess and his utterly unique and unaffected approach to life.”
She continues to add that Lochte is an “incredibly endearing personality who is sexy, entertaining and fun” and by watching his show, she believes that the audience will “fall into three categories: they want to be him, sleep with him or mother him.” Hmmm…
Keep in mind that Ryan Lochte is an athlete, first and foremost, and it is his swimming prowess that has thus far defined him. The constant presence of the E! filming crew and juggling so many things all at once may try the patience of his swimming coach Gregg Troy…
As for Ryan Lochte, he just likes to win! Who doesn’t?
