The ceremonial moment definitely impacted Meryl Davis and Charlie White. The two athletes smiled from ear to ear and seemed extraordinarily excited to have the opportunity. With the Canadians taking silver and the Russians winning the bronze, the moment was moving and delightful.

American pride was alive and well in Sochi on Tuesday. The couple that brought the first gold medal for the USA in Olympic ice dance history is widely loved by America. While it seems a bit unfair the couple had to wait 24 hours before getting their medals, the fans were in full support once it finally happened.
