Olympic Figure Skating schedule; Kim Nu-Ya, Gracie Gold, Mao Asada go for gold

The Olympic Figure skating schedule for the 2014 Winter Olympics has fans ready to watch the battle for the gold. The stars of the ice have viewers ready for a front row seat and there is plenty of action expected. This year the returning champions, Kim Nu-Ya of South Korea and Mao Asada are going head to head once again to see who takes home the gold and silver. It’s not all determined quite yet as there are a few Americans in the mix that might offer an upset on the ice. According to the Huffington Post on Wednesday Gracie Gold and Ashley Wagner are American contenders that could also medal.

The tight race for the Olympic figure skating has everyone looking at the new Olympic team figure skating too. It is a different concept with teams being athletes who come together for a competition event and the idea offers more figure skating to the viewers and tough competition.

When it comes to the men’s competition on the ice, the wild card is Evgeny Plushenko. The home country opportunity gives the competitor an advantage as feeding off an excited crowd is definitely an energy rush. However, many think that Canadian Patrick Chan is the three-time is the favorite for gold medal as he pushes the boundaries of figure skating.
