Although the local authorities have yet to name Reeva Steenkamp as the victim, there is little doubt as to who was found dead in the Olympian's home. Some members of the media believe she was planning a Valentine's Day surprise for Oscar Pistorius.
A 9 mm pistol was found in Oscar Pistorius' home. Reeva Steenkamp had been shot twice, once in the arm and once in the head. She was declared dead on the scene. According to the South African police, there had been “previous incidents.” Those incidents were of a “domestic nature.”
Oscar Pistorius was the first double amputee to compete in the Olympics. The “Blade Runner,” as he is known, used carbon fiber prosthetic blades to compete in the 2012 Olympics in London last summer.
Oscar Pistorius will make his first court appearance later today. At the time of publication, it was unknown if he would make a statement at that time.
