Olympic curling definitely has a Canadian feel at the Sochi Olympics. Only a day after the Olympic curling women’s gold medal was handed to the Canadians, the medal for men’s Olympic curling was handed to the Canadian men. According to NBC Sports on Friday, the game between Britain and Canada continued a hot streak with a win over the British in a final score of 9-3.
The Olympic sport of curling was really popular at the Sochi Olympics. While Americans might have been more focused on the slopes or Olympic hockey, Olympic curling was a huge draw and offered a sport that people of all ages could watch and listen in to the athletes as they strategically played.
The Canadian team is quite strong when it comes to the ice. Canadian skip Brad Jacobs, Ryan Fry, E.J. Harnden, Ryan Harnden along with alternate Caleb Flaxey had nine wins and two losses overall in the tournament in Sochi. The astounding record had the world once again seeing the big finish for the Canadian team.
The Canadians are the kings of curling. Known to be vocal on the course, offering plenty of fist bumps and high five’s there is nothing quiet about the team.
