Olympian & murder suspect's family strongly disputes Oscar Pistorius's charges (Video)

Oscar Pistorius has been charged with murder and according to the New York Times on February 15, 2013, his family strongly disputes the charges.

Pistorius and his family appeared in the South African capital Pretoria. Gathered in a court room, the family tearfully waited to hear charges in the murder of the former track runner's girlfriend.

Pistorius’s family have issued a statement that

“the alleged murder is disputed in the strongest terms, and would like to send his deepest sympathies to the family”

Reeva Steenkamp, a 30-year-old model was found in a pool of blood apparently shot several times in the runner's home according to police.

Rumors have swirled after shock hit the community who revered the Para Olympian nicknamed "Blade Runner" as a hero. Reports of the runner suspecting his girlfriends as an intruder have been quickly dismissed as the prosecution is seeking a charge of premeditated murder.

Others reports have stated there were domestic disputes that police responded to in the past, however Mike Steenkamp, uncle of the deceased stated,

"Reeva's family had no clue that there were any problems in her relationship,This was a complete bolt out of the blue."

The bail hearing has been delayed while Oscar Pistorius waits in jail. His family has spoken out in support of their son, but nothing further has been reported as motive.

Surely the families of both parties are devastated.
