Olivia Wilde is going the way of actresses before her and starting a website, wildethings.org. (Think GOOP.com by Gwyneth Paltrow, only different.) She made the announcement Monday via Twitter.
The main page of the site has an introduction written by Olivia, which might be the least pretentious piece of writing by a celebrity currently floating around the internet.
This is a space for me to share with you the ever evolving grab bag of things I care about ... Whatever the detour that brought you here, I’m happy to make your acquaintance! By putting my thoughts online myself, I have a chance to connect with you directly, instead of filtering everything through speculation, rumors, and glossy illusions. I’d love for you to be able to get to know me as if we met in person.
On the site, she details her trip to post-earthquake Haiti as a member of Artists for Peace and Justice. You see a photo of Olivia smiling with a group of school children. It's a wonderful piece of work, just the sort you'd expect from the daughter of journalists and writers (which Olivia is). There are photos of her dog, Lola, and the "kids" from her hit TV show House. And you'll find information on a plethora of organizations who do work that Olivia clearly believes in.
